Does it cost to burn songs from napster or rhapsody onto a cd?

I am going to get either napster or rhapsody to get song onto my ipod. i heard that you cant burn the songs straight to your ipod. so i was going to burn them to a cd then transfer them to itunes. but i don't know if that cost more or not. if you know or have a better way of doing this i would appreciate it.
