anyone used ovation credit repair services?

i want to get my credit fixed ,has anyone used ovation or any other credit repair service that actually works?

1) A warning about credit repair companies, if they settle debts with your creditor's-that will appear on your credit and will actually lesson your credit score, not help. You can negotiate with your creditor's on your own. We had considered bankruptcy at one point and the lawyer told us that working with a credit repair company looks as bad as a BK on your credit? FYI

2) You can go to myfico.com to get a copy of all your reports and your fico score. It also tells you if there are any accounts that should come off, also if they were duplicated and so much more. It really helped my husband and I get out of debt. Back in August 07, we started correcting our own reports by contacting the credit bureaus our self. We just bought a house in December 08.

3) Some people seem to be confusing credit repair with credit counseling. They are very different things. With a credit repair company like ovation law they will try to improve your credit by asking for the verification of negative information on your credit report. Many times the information is not verified and it will be removed hence improving your score. It does work for the most part but that depends on how many derogatory items you have on your report and how old they are. You can also do this yourself but like most services that you can do the professionals usually get better results. I don't do my own taxes and would not represent myself in court, but I could. Credit counseling is used when you have too much debt to make the payments and you need help restructuring the debt to avoid further financial trouble. Lenders see this as being incapable of managing and while it is technically not supposed to hurt your score it is listed on your report and lenders see it. The site below explains the details of how credit repair services use the law in your favor to have negative items removed. It also explains how you can do it yourself if you want to.
