i will enclose a little info about my credit report, below is what my credit report looks like:?

On Experian: 1.ARROW FINANCIAL SERVICE DateOpened: 12/2005 Status: Collection account 2.Bally Fitness DateOpened: 04/2005 Status: Open/Past due 180 days. 3.DEBT RECOVERY SOLUTIONS DateOpened: 07/2005 Status: Collection account. 4.GEMB/DISCOUNT TIRES DateOpened: 11/2004 Status: Account charged off/Past due 150 days. 1 and 4 are the same but was sold to Arrow finnacial. Now on my transunion its the same items but on equifax there is only one item reported, whats the bet thing to do to to get a better score based on the info i provided ?

1) pay off the collections and pay the others on time! if u need more info u should find a financial couselor in ur area (through ur credit union or bank, if possible) or attend a financial seminar/workshop to get tips on making it better! equifax is the most popular bureau that creditors use! good luck!

2) pay off all your debts.... then wait seven years for all the bad debt to come off your credit and start all over..... But from the looks of it you are pretty well screwed on your credit for the next seven to ten years.. ...

3) As for the duplicate items, you can protest them with Experian and demand that #4 be removed because it's a duplicate entry. Then demand #1 be removed due to incorrect reporting period. They are using the date they recieved the account, not the delinquency date. They must either change the date or delete the entry. Failing to do either is a violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and they can be sued for $1000 through small claims court. Even if both are removed, you still have two bad items, and they will hold your score down. Use the same protest procedure to attempt to get them removed. See the link below for info and sample letters on how to protest, and send out validation demand letters. http://www.zagrosbigvand.com/credit-repair.html

4) Pay off the debts. You can often make offers at half the total owed and the collector will accept that as payment in full.

5) Dispute the duplicate items, providing documentation to prove your position. From the looks of what you provided, you were not doing a good job protecting your credit rating and will be paying the price for some time to come. Learn from this and pay your creditors on schedule. Also limit your credit to what you can actually afford. It's going to take some discipline on your part to get your score up. And it will take some time. Credit counseling may help, but it is really up to you. Good luck.

6) First, I have to say that in this day in age, PLEASE be careful about the information you put on the internet, ESPECIALLY about your credit or credit report. It doesn't take much for someone to steal your identity and make your life hell. The first web site listed below gives some great information about preventing ID theft. Here's my answer to your question. Dispute the information but make the bureaus do the work. I would not provide them any information at all other than you believe that this information is "inaccurate". According to section 611 of the Fair Credit Reporting Act, the bureaus must remove any information that is unverifiable. A lot of times these creditors and the bureaus themselves are so wrapped up in getting things done that mistakes are made that can result in the removal of the disputed item. However, keep in mind that even if the information is removed from your credit report, it does not have any affect on whether or not the debt is owed. Removing the item only means that a potential lender will not see it on the report. If any of these accounts are outstanding, you might consider trying to hire someone locally to you to help you settle them. A friend of mind settled theirs for a small percentage of what was originally owed and the creditor considered the account to be settled in full. Once they are settled, dispute them with the bureaus again if necessary and you may find that it's easier to get them removed.
